Our Services

JFGH offers several options for receiving residential care and support services. The focus of all our programs is to enhance the independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion of the individuals we serve. JFGH is distinguished in part by the quantity and quality of the enriching cultural, recreational activities offered to residents, as well as by an emphasis on providing opportunities to observe one’s faith.

Each resident participates in meaningful day activities such as jobs, supported employment, day habilitation programs, and volunteer work. All JFGH residential counselors receive training in First Aid, CPR, and medication administration, introduction to developmental disabilities, seizure training, behavior management, Judaism, and Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws).

Families also play an integral role in the lives of individuals receiving JFGH services. JFGH offers activities, such as the Sibling Network, which are specifically designed for family members and residents to spend enjoyable time together.

In 2008, JFGH will launch the Meaningful Opportunities for Successful Transitions (MOST) program, a unique, one-year program of services and support for young adults with disabilities who need, but have not found, a placement in an appropriate day program after aging out of educational entitlements.
