The Senior Counselor serves as the lead staff for the home whose primary responsibility is to ensure the general wellbeing of the residents in the home in collaboration with the Assistant Group Home Administrator assigned to provide personnel and case management for that home. They support the implementation of the individual service plans by providing day-to-day services on behalf of the residents of the home, and provide a role model for the rest of the direct care staff in the home. Senior Counselor is a full-time non-exempt position at JFGH and reports directly to an Assistant Group Home Administrator.
Shifts: Thursday – Tuesday
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred and/or equivalent minimum of 5 years related experience in the area of disabilities or human services.
- Willingness and ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described above.
- Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Must complete required trainings within time period allowed.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule determined by the needs of the Group Home; the work schedule is mutually agreed upon with the supervisor.
- Must be able to lift 50 – 100 lbs. and capable of kneeling on the floor to provide CPR rescue efforts.
- Must maintain credentials on Medication Technician Certification.
- Must successfully pass required Drug Screening test.
- Must pass all background checks.
