• Maintenance Technician

  Property maintenance is essential to Jewish Foundation for Group Homes (JFGH), and we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The position is full-time with benefits.

  
  

  Charged with performing routine and emergency maintenance, the JFGH Maintenance Technician must have a working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, repair and service; the ability to troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action; superior customer service skills; and a great attention to detail. Three or more years of hands-on general maintenance experience including plumbing, appliances, drywall and painting is required; experience in electrical a plus. The ability to lift 50 -75 pounds is required.  Basic Microsoft Windows computer experience required.  A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; trade school and/or military training a plus. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, some weekend availability, and rotating on-call responsibility for after-hours emergencies required.

• Director of Programs

  The Director of Programs would be responsible for oversight and staff supervision of all direct care programs, and provide advocacy, case management and counseling.  The Director of Programs is a full-time management level Behavioral Health Professional.

   

   

  Qualifications

  1. Must have an Advanced Degree in Behavioral Health field and current Professional Maryland license to practice independently and a minimum of five years of management level experience, at least two of which are in the disabilities field.
  2. Must have a minimum of four (4) years in the field of disability services.
  3. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of supervising others.
  4. Must have demonstrated, management, administrative and supervisory experience in a similar setting.
  5. Must have proficient knowledge of computers.
  6.  Must be available evenings and weekends.
  7. Must demonstrate capacity for independent decision making.
  8. Must have Valid Drivers’ License.
  9. Must be able to successfully pass all background checks.

• Registered Nurse

  Full-time RN to work with adults with developmental disabilities in our residential and transition programs.

   

  The position requires the RN to operate as a delegating nurse with responsibilities to include providing consultation to staff regarding issues and concerns relevant to participant’s medical needs, advising participants on health maintenance and disease prevention, working with medical providers to assess participants’ health problems and needs, maintaining medical records, creating and assuring participants nursing care plans are implemented and participating in team coordination of planning and implementing long-range goals.

   

  In addition to the delegating RN responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to perform administrative and managerial functions, such as implementing programs designed to improve the overall health of participants and provide (CMT) Certified Medical Technician, CPR and First Aid training.

• Assistant Group Home Administrator (AGHA)

  The Assistant Group Homes Administrator is responsible for the operations and staff supervision of two (2) or more group homes and/or alternative living units.

  The AGHA oversees all facets of supports necessary to facilitate fully independent lives within the community and are responsible for promoting a person centered plan for each resident.  They supervise residential staff in the disposition of their responsibilities in supporting the implementation of the Individual Plans for residents.

  The AGHA is a full-time management level position who reports directly to the Group Homes Administrator.

• Senior Counselor

  The Senior Counselor serves as the lead staff for the home whose primary responsibility is to ensure the general wellbeing of the residents in the home in collaboration with the Assistant Group Home Administrator assigned to provide personnel and case management for that home. They support the implementation of the individual service plans by providing day-to-day services on behalf of the residents of the home, and provide a role model for the rest of the direct care staff in the home. Senior Counselor is a full-time non-exempt position at JFGH and reports directly to an Assistant Group Home Administrator.

    

  Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred and/or equivalent minimum of 5 years related experience in the area of disabilities or human services.
  • Willingness and ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described above.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • Must complete required trainings within time period allowed.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule determined by the needs of the Group Home; the work schedule is mutually agreed upon with the supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift 50 – 100 lbs. and capable of kneeling on the floor to provide CPR rescue efforts.
  • Must maintain credentials on Medication Technician Certification.
  • Must successfully pass required Drug Screening test.
  • Must pass all background checks.

• Direct Care - Residential Counselor

  The Residential Counselor is a position responsible for the direct care of group home and ALU residents, as well as for the physical condition of the home itself.  This includes but is not limited to consumer health and safety, consumer welfare, individual choice, and the implementation of the IP.  Residential counselors will initiate and promote consumer participation in activities, providing appropriate care and promoting a community oriented environment within the home.  The residential counselor will maintain all homes under the JFGH Kashrut standard and allow consumers to assist in following their religious customs.

  • High school degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid MD, VA, or DC driver’s license.
  • Must pass all background checks
  • Must successfully pass required Drug Screening test.
  • Must complete required trainings within time period allowed.
  • Responsible for expiration of certification dates
  • Must participate in additional trainings pertinent to improving consumer care.
  • Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds and be capable of kneeling on the floor to provide assistance to consumers.
  • Must be familiar with computers or be willing to take training on computers.

• MOST PROGRAM COUNSELOR

  The MOST Program Counselor is responsible for transition programming for MOST program participants. The MOST Program Counselor will initiate and promote individuals’ participation in activities necessary to support their Individualized Transition Plans (ITP), on which each participants goals toward Self-Sufficiency, Community, and Vocation are identified. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Teaching and facilitating participants’ independence in self-help, activities of daily living, and safety skills
  • Identifying and introducing participants to social, recreational, and transportation resources in the community, and promoting development of social skills
  • Assisting in determining work readiness, abilities, interests, and preferences, conducting work readiness training, assisting with completion of applications and job interviews, and providing job development and job coaching.

   

  Candidates with background in special education, vocational rehabilitation, or job coaching are encouraged to apply.

   

   

  The MOST Program Counselor will report directly to the MOST Program Administrator.
