Who We Are

JFGH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the independence, dignity, choice and community inclusion of individuals with disabilities, regardless of faith or creed. JFGH’s programs support more than 200 individuals in over 70 sites throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Support is provided through JFGH’s residential, transitioning youth and social programs.

Our Mission

The Jewish Foundation for Group Homes is committed to providing individuals with developmental disabilities and/or chronic mental disorders with the opportunity to live independently within the community with dignity, personal choice and respect while offering the opportunity to experience Jewish life and supporting others with the opportunity to practice their own faith.

Our Values

JFGH abides by basic Jewish beliefs in promoting the respect and value of all human beings, while maintaining the highest quality of services. JFGH is dedicated to diversity in terms of race, religion, ethnic background, ability, socioeconomic background and medical condition.

Our Goals

Within its mission, JFGH provides programs and services, which increase the independence, dignity, choice and community inclusion of the individuals it serves. JFGH provides training to enhance independent living skills, personal assistance with daily living and long-term support. All JFGH residents are employed, enrolled in school or participate in day programs. To the extent of their abilities, the residents also share in the household chores such as doing laundry and assisting with meal preparation. JFGH provides safe, comfortable and attractive homes, staffed with trained direct support providers and offers a range of activities for its residents.
